The Department of Education, Patna Women’s College Autonomous organized a Workshop on Online Tools for Effective Teaching and Learning, from 3rd June 2024 to 10th June 2024 on online mode using the Zoom platform. The workshop aimed to equip the students with the necessary skills and knowledge to effectively integrate digital tools into their teaching practices.

The first session was taken by Dr. Prabhas Ranjan, who explained the dynamic uses of Google Docs and Google Forms in teaching and learning. For the next session the resource person was Dr. Shubhra who enabled the students to create visually appealing and engaging presentations using Google Slides and Microsoft PowerPoint. This was followed by a session on Hindi typing, conducted by Dr. Nitu Chauhan where the participants gained proficiency in using Remington and Inscript keyboards, as well as typing in Kruti Dev and Mangal fonts.

In the next session Dr. Madhumita guided the students through the process of creating animations, detailing each step involved in preparing animations and exploring various forms of motion in PowerPoint presentations. The students learned how to remove backgrounds from images and effectively incorporate those images into their slides. Next, Dr. Rashmi Sinha enhanced the students’ skills by teaching them how to create GIFs, and add music and timing to make presentations more effective and attractive. To improve their storytelling abilities, the students were instructed on how to effectively stack pictures and use time-delayed animations and GIFs.

The following day, Ms. Swati Shilpi, introduced the students to various online assessment tools, specifically, H5P, Quizziz and Kahoot, and they were guided through creating online quizzes, multiple-choice questions, fill-in-the-blanks, drag-and-drop activities, and image identification tasks. Additionally, they learned how to conduct these online quizzes and share them with their students. On the last day of the workshop, Dr. Ranjan acquainted the students with AI tools like Gamma and Chatgpt, and their effective and ethical use in enhancing teaching and learning.

Following this, the students created e-content materials using all the digital tools they had learned during the workshop.
