Admission

Intake

As per the order of NCTE, the Department of Education can take two units of students for its Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.) programme. Each unit consists of 50 students. Hence the total number of allotted students for the B.Ed programme is 100 (One hundred). Click to view the NCTE Revised Order.

As a Religious Minority Educational Institution, Patna Women’s College reserves 50% of its sanctioned seats for Christian students. For the remaining 50% of the approved seats, State Government and Patna University (P.U.) policies are followed. Details are given below :

Candidates with at least fifty per cent marks either in the Bachelor’s Degree and/or in the Master’s Degree in Sciences/Social Sciences/ Humanity, Bachelor’s in Engineering or Technology with specialization in Science and Mathematics with 55% marks or any other qualification equivalent thereto, are eligible for admission to the programme.

The reservation and relaxation for SC/ST/OBC/PWD and other categories shall be as per the rules of the Central Government / State Government, whichever is applicable.

Process of Admission

As per the order of the Honorable Chancellor (Click here for a copy), admission in all institutions running the B.Ed programme in Bihar is conducted based on a Combined Entrance Test (CET-B.Ed.) conducted by the university nominated by the Chancellor, Bihar, each year.

The candidate should secure at least 35 per cent (for the general category) and 30 per cent of total marks for (SC, ST and Differently abled) for qualifying. However, a higher score will increase the chances of admission to the desired institution. But, the final allotment of institutions for admission is done based on counselling conducted by the nodal university.

If you are a female Christan student, you must select Christian Religious Minority Reservation in the prescribed place while filling out the form. You should also possess the relevant documents to support the claim. You are advised to choose the Department of Education, Patna Women’s College, as your first choice.
