The third semester students of session 2023-2025 of the Department of Education, Patna Women’s College Autonomous participated in a 5-day workshop on Innovative Visual Aids, from July 2nd to July 6th, 2024 in Kilkari Bal Bhawan. This five-day programme aimed to equip trainees with creativity, hands-on learning, and effective teaching methodologies.
It commenced with an engaging session on storytelling by Mr. Akash Kumar. He emphasised the importance of voice modulation, facial expressions, and body language. Then, the trainees were taught to make creative hand puppets and socks puppets using easily available materials by Ms. Bindu Kumari.
The third day was dedicated to clay art and painting. The session covered basic techniques such as moulding, shaping, and detailing with clay by Mr. Rupesh Kumar. Trainees were encouraged to create educational models that could be used as teaching aids. On the fourth day, trainees were taught how to role play and make class an exciting experience by Mr. Abhishek Raj.
The final day was a culmination of the skills learned throughout the workshop. The trainees organized a theme-based morning assembly that included newly acquired skill of storytelling on “The Goat and the Wolf,”a skit on ‘Swachhta Abhiyan’, and an exhibition displaying the various articles made by the trainees, including hand puppets, clay art, and sock puppets.
