The Department of Education, Patna Women’s College Autonomous, bid adieu to the students of the session 2021-23, in a solemn valedictory function on 11th April 2023.
The programme began by invoking the blessing of the Lord, by singing the hymn, ‘In His time’ followed by Hindi prayer song, ‘Humko mann ki shakti dena’. The outgoing batch offered a prayer service for the health and happiness of the Patna Women’s College family and sought God’s generous blessings for everyone who were with them in the two-year long journey in the college.
Dr. Sister M. Rashmi A.C., Principal, Patna Women’s College addressed the gathering showering her blessings upon the students along with her words of wisdom. She gave the analogy of seeds, which grow into sturdy plants and trees when they fall on fertile soil. Similarly, the student-trainees must make use of every opportunity to enrich themselves and learn from every experience. She wished them luck for their future endeavours and asked them to uphold the core values and the motto of the college, ‘Be Wise’ alive wherever they go.
The students lit their candles with the help of the flame held by the Principal, symbolising the values and ethics which they learnt here and will now radiate it in the world outside. The stage was adorned by students with glittering candles in their hand as they sang to the melody of ‘There is a candle in every soul’. The words of the song filled everyone with a deep sense of love, gratitude and nostalgia.
Moreover, few students shared their experiences in the department. There were bursts of laughter, shouts of enthusiasm, cheers of joy and moments of overflowing emotions in the narratives. There was none present in the hall who was not moved by the myriad of experiences shared by the students.
The Head of the Department, Dr. Sister M. Saroj A.C. expressed her joy and pride at the achievements of the batch of 2021- 23. She urged everyone to stay connected with the department and that the doors of the department are always open for them. She distributed mementos to all students and blessed them for their bright future. The function came to an end with the college anthem.
At last, the students of session 2021- ’23 bid farewell to their alma mater with the promise to take the legacy of Patna Women’s College to greater heights.
