The Department of Education, Patna Women’s College Autonomous, organized a three-day orientation programme for the newly admitted B. Ed. batch of session 2024-26, from 31st August 2024 to 3rd September 2024.

The first day of the orientation began in a peaceful atmosphere as Dr. Shubhra, Assistant Professor, guided the gathering through a moment of meditation and prayer. Following this tranquil start, Dr. Sister M. Saroj A.C., Head and Dean of the Department of Education, warmly welcomed the students, introducing them to their academic home and sharing the department’s values and vision. This was followed by the introduction of the teaching and non-teaching staff of the department. The second half of the day held the anticipated Formal Inauguration of the session by Dr. Sister M. Tanisha A.C., the esteemed Vice Principal of Patna Women’s College.
On the second day of the orientation, Ms. Yamini, Assistant Professor, led a guided meditation session followed by prayer. This was followed by Mr Shekhar Kumar, Head Librarian of the department briefing the students about the rules and regulations of the library and access to its various facilities. Later Dr. Prabhas Ranjan, Assistant Professor, conducted a cognizance test, to know the entry behaviour of the students. The second half of the day consisted of a value education class by Dr. Rashmi Sinha, Assistant Professor, highlighting the importance of a humane teacher in a student’s life, and an icebreaker session in the form of a group game ‘Bombing the City’.
The last day of the orientation began with prayer led by Dr. Shubhra. Dr. Madhumita, Assistant Professor, conducted an attitude test, which was followed by the most anticipated moment of the day, the Talent Hunt. Dr. Madhumita and Ms. Yamini expertly orchestrated this showcase of skills and talents. Each student offered a glimpse into their individual abilities. After lunch, students were divided into four groups and were taken for a round in the session, ‘Know your Department’. Each group was led by Dr. Shubhra, Dr. Nitu Chauhan, Ms. Mona, and Ms. Swati Shilpi. Students became aware of their department and the facilities available here. In the last session, they learnt and practised different prayer and prayer songs under the supervision of Ms. Yamini.
