The Department of Education, Patna Women’s College Autonomous, celebrated International Women’s Day on 7th March 2026 with great enthusiasm under the theme “Mahila Hakon ki Bisat.”
As part of the celebration, fourth semester students (Session 2024–26) presented house-wise wall magazines highlighting women’s rights, achievements of women, and the significance of gender equality. The presentations reflected creativity, thoughtful perspectives, and strong messages of women’s empowerment.
A poetry recitation competition was also organized, in which eight second semester students (Session 2025–27) presented self-composed poems expressing their views on women’s strength, identity, and equality. The programme began with a pledge led by Umang.
The event was judged by Dr. Prabhas Ranjan, Assistant Professor, Department of Education, and Dr. Manjula Sushila, Assistant Professor, Department of Hindi, Patna Women’s College. The results were as follows:
First Position: Achala Shrivastav
Second Position: Komal Kumari
Third Position: Ishika Sharma and Amrita Raj
Dr. Manjula Sushila appreciated the depth and creativity of the presentations and spoke about the status of women in society, emphasizing the importance of honesty, responsibility, and empowerment in thought and action. Dr. Prabhas Ranjan encouraged students to remain innovative, value their identity, and develop the strength to stand up for themselves while contributing to a safe and supportive environment for all.
The programme concluded with a vote of thanks by Yashasvi Suman, Prefect of the Department of Education.
