The Department of Education, Patna Women’s College Autonomous organized a screening of a short film, ‘Khadi: Ek Vichardhara’, for its first semester students on 19th October 2023, in accordance with the National Council for Teacher Education Celebration of Khadi Mahotsav ( NCTE-Estt018/31/2023-Estt Section- HQ).
The film focused on the significance, history, and cultural importance of Khadi, a symbol of India’s independence movement and a testament to self-reliance and sustainable living. It highlighted the history of Khadi, its association with Mahatma Gandhi’s ideals of self-sufficiency, and its relevance in the modern world. The screening was held with the objective of educating and raising awareness among the students about the historical, cultural, and contemporary relevance of Khadi.
In the end, the students engaged in an interactive session where they shared their thoughts on Khadi, its potential as a sustainable fabric, and how they could promote it in their lives.
