The third-semester students (session 2022-24) of the Department of Education, Patna Women’s College Autonomous, completed their sixteen weeks of school internship in December 2023. They were divided into various groups and went to different schools of Patna like – Loyola High School, Carmel High School, DAV Public School (BSEB), B D Public School, Baldwin’s Sophia School, Government Girls High School, Bankipur, Government Girls High School, Shastri Nagar, Government Boys High School, Shastri Nagar, Devipad Choudhary Shaheed Smarak Miller High School, and Government Girls High School, Chiraiyatad. The internship provided a comprehensive and immersive experience for the duration of 24th August to 2nd December. The primary objective of the internship was to gain practical teaching experience, observe classroom dynamics, gain experience in lesson planning and delivery, and understand the administrative aspects of school operations.
The internship provided exposure to diverse teaching methodologies, classroom dynamics, and administrative processes and provided practical insights into the field of education to the interns. The knowledge gained, challenges overcome, and overall experience will significantly contribute to the professional development of the teacher trainees. The internship concluded with the practical examination on 15th and 16th December, 2023.
