On 7th March 2024, the Department of Education, Patna Women’s College Autonomous, organized an International Women’s Day celebration centred around the theme “Nari main Nivesh, Pragati main Pravesh”. The programme, facilitated through a PowerPoint presentation, included poetry emphasizing the continuous journey towards women’s empowerment and a self-composed poem by Srishti Kumari. Thereafter, Astha and Alaiza Thakur set the mood of the day with their bold and mesmerizing rendition of the song ”Bekhauf Aazaad hai Jeena Mujhe”.
Additionally, Jaya and her group enacted an impactful play, showcasing various roles that portrayed women’s empowerment and strength. Characters such as Meera Bai, Rani Lakshmi Bai, Nirmala Sitharaman, and Sushma Swaraj were depicted by Sister Ashwini, Nisha Singh, Mansha, Sushmita Murmu, Anjali Raj and Alina playing pivotal roles in bringing the message to life through their enactments. The highlight of the event was a powerful dance performance by Pratima Kumari and the group on women’s empowerment, captivating the audience and underscoring the importance of gender equality and progress every day.
Dr. Prabhas Ranjan, Assistant Professor, Department of Education, shared insightful words, offering a fresh perspective on gender dynamics, emphasizing the fact that everyone has their own struggle that they have to fight. In the end, Dr. Sister M. Saroj, Head of the Department, commended everyone for their participation and stressed the significance of ongoing appreciation and enlightenment in the pursuit of gender equality.
