A remarkable display of regional language poetry unfolded on 21st March 2024 at Patna Women’s College Autonomous during a poetry competition. Students showcased their talent in Maithili, Bhojpuri, Urdu, Hindi, and English, captivating the audience at an inter-departmental poetry contest hosted by the Department of Communicative English and Media Studies in honour of World Poetry Day. The poems eloquently expressed a range of emotions such as pain, aspirations, love for the country and state, struggle, and admiration for nature.

The judging panel, consisting of Mr. Prashant Ravi for Hindi and regional languages poems and Mr. Frank Krishner for English poems, both esteemed faculty members of the college, meticulously evaluated the performances. Priti Kumari and Srishti Kumari from the Departments of Political Science and B.Ed, respectively, shined in the Hindi category, while Alshura Salbeel from the Department of Botany, Divya Rani from the B.Ed Department and Anjali Priya from the B.Ed Department excelled in the regional languages section. Uzma Rahman from the B.Ed. The department received accolades for her Urdu poetry. Khushi Raj from the Department of Communicative English and Media Studies clinched victory in the English category.
