Department of Education, Patna Women’s College Autonomous celebrated the 78th Independence Day with great enthusiasm on 14th August 2024. The anchors of the program were Anjali Hela and Anshika Rani. The program started off with the lighting of the lamp. The program’s theme ‘Viksit Bharat’, was introduced by Sneha Rani to the audience. Then the room was filled with feelings of patriotism with a soulful song, “Hum sab Bhartiya hain”. A captivating speech on Independence Day was delivered by Shreeti Kaushik and Saloni Kumari. A soothing prayer service was conducted by Anjali Hela for the development of our country. Representing the strength, pride and glory of our country a role-play activity, “Bharat ke Karmveer” was conducted by Shikha Rani and Karishma Kumari, where students represented women from various fields of our country like Ritu Karidhal who is a scientist, Sonal Man Singh — a parliamentarian, Ruma Devi a social worker, Sushma Swaraj- politician, P V Sindhu a sportsperson. The program followed with an informative quiz conducted by Jaya Singh and Shagufta Afreen, the questions in the quiz were related to the history of India. The program was further followed by a mesmerising skit on the title “Mai Naye Bharat Ka Chehra Hun”. A pledge formulated by the Government of India was taken by the students, where they pledged to make India self–reliant in the coming years and be proud of its legacy. Finally, the program came to an end with a vote of thanks proposed by Sushma Singh. The program formally ended with the national anthem.
