The Language Club organised Hindi Pakhwada in the Department from 1st – 14th September 2021 through the digital platform Zoom. The Objectives of the programme were:
- To enrich students’ knowledge and understanding of the Hindi language and its different forms.
- To sensitise the students about the deteriorating status of the Hindi language.
- To enable the students to take innovative initiatives to conserve and preserve the Hindi language.
The theme for the two-week long programme was “Anokhi Hindi”, in which many competitions were organised like “Na samjhe to Anari”- a questionnaire presented by non-Hindi students, “Hindi ki naayikaayein”, – a slide presentation to throw light on the Heroines of Hindi Literature, “Ajooba Antvarshiye Pratiyogita”, – a presentation on new or lesser-known facts, and “Main Hoon Anokhi”, – a mono-act to show the uniqueness of Hindi language. On the final day of the event, Dr. Kishor Sinha, writer and media expert, Patna, graced the occasion and in his talk on “Hindi mein sahityetar lekhan – Smabhavnaayein evam Vikalap”, he threw light on the importance of Hindi language in our life. He said that there should be more books published in Hindi so that it gets easier for its readers to access. Also, he emphasised the point that Hindi should be cherished not only one day but every day.
