An Inter College Painting Competition on the theme ‘Gandhian Thoughts on Basic Education’ was organised by the Department of Education, Patna Women’s College on 23rd January 2020. Participants were B.Ed. students from nine teacher education institutions of Patna.
It was a learning experience for the students. The first learning was that there is a difference between poster and painting even though both of them have similar components.
The Programme started with lighting the lamp followed by Patriotic Song ‘Teri Mitti’. Head and Dean of the Department, Dr Upasana Singh welcomed the august gathering and explained the rules and guidelines. She encouraged young artists to express themselves freely. The participants were given two hours to make their paintings.
Prof. K.C. Bajpai, Head, Creative Arts, BIT, Patna and Mr Sharad Kumar, Artist and Visual Merchandiser were the esteemed judges for the event. They talked about how the medium of art allows young minds to explore their thoughts and imagination. He also focused on self-reliance.

Third: Pooja Kumari – M.S. Institute of Education, Patna
Consolation: Priya Gautam – M.S. Institute of Education, Patna
The programme was anchored by Fauzia Hasan and Vote of Thanks proposed by Simpy Pallav from B.Ed. (Final Semester) of the Department of Education, Patna Women’s College.
