On 19th February 2021, the Department of Education, Patna Women’s College organized a Departmental Seminar for its second-year teacher trainees. The theme of the seminar was “Children Well Being: School and Society”. The Objectives of the programme were:
Objectives:
- To learn the method of conducting research
- To enrich students’ knowledge about Scientific Methods and Approaches
- To develop sensitiveness towards social problems and instil curiosity and spirit of Discovery
The students showed active participation. A total of five groups, with three members each, participated in the discourse. Each group was given 8 minutes time for their research paper presentation and discussion of findings. Additional 2 minutes were allotted for a question-answer round to assess the depth of understanding of the issues and provide solutions. The Board of Judges included Dr. Prabhas Ranjan, Dr. Neetu Chauhan and Dr. Shubhra, faculties, Department of Education, Patna Women’s College. The seminar provided an opportunity for students to understand the basics of conducting a research activity and exploring issues of educational and social importance.
