Department of Education, Patna Women's College Autonomous
Established in 2006, the Department of Education is an NCTE-accredited body running a B.Ed. Course.
The Department of Education, Patna Women's College Autonomous, organized an Inter-School Elocution Competition on 26th April 2025, on the theme “Bharat ke Gauravshali Samriddh Virasat”. Nineteen prestigious schools from Patna, like Litera Valley School, Army Public School, Delhi Public School, Government Girls Senior Secondary School, Shastri Nagar, etc. participated with great enthusiasm.
The event began with the lighting of the lamp and a soulful welcome song by B.Ed. students, celebrating India’s rich cultural spirit.
The panel of judges included:

Dr. Manjula Susheela, Head, Department of Hindi
Dr. Prabhas Ranjan, Assistant Professor, Department of Education
Participants passionately recited poems on topics like "Hamare Desh ki Gatha: Virasat ki Nishani" and "Bharat Ki Anmol Virasat," blending eloquence, emotion, and national pride. The judges praised the students’ depth, expression, and preparation, offering constructive feedback.
After evaluation, the results were announced by Dr. Sister M. Saroj A.C., Head, Department of Education:
First Prize: Krishn Priya, Vidya Niketan School
Second Prize: Daksh Sharma, St. Dominic Savio’s High School
Third Prize: Rishit Patel, Millennium World School
Trophies and participation certificates were awarded, making it a proud and memorable moment. The event concluded with a heartfelt vote of thanks to the jury, teachers, coordinators, and participants for making the event a grand success.

The Department of Education, Patna Women's College Autonomous, organized a two-day educational visit to the College of Arts and Crafts, Patna, on 22nd and 23rd April 2025 for Semester II students (2024–26). The visit aimed to deepen awareness about India’s rich but diminishing indigenous art traditions.
Dr. Rakhee Kumari, Principal of the host college, welcomed the students warmly. The visit began with a session on lithography, led by Ashwan, a fourth-year student, who explained its historical roots and technical process.
Students then explored the Sculpture Department, learning about materials like wood, metal, and POP moulds. Dr. Vinod Kumar introduced them to various dimensions and forms of visual arts.
They also viewed oil paintings, Koilwar art, and visited the pottery room to understand clay types and techniques of pottery making.
The visit concluded with an inspiring address by Dr. Ajay Pandey, Former Principal, who emphasized the importance of integrating art into teaching.
The visit offered valuable hands-on exposure, enriching the students’ appreciation of art and its role in education.

The Department of Education, Patna Women's College Autonomous marked World Earth Day by inaugurating the “Nurture the Nature” Green Corner on 22nd April 2025. Designed and developed by Semester II students (session 2024–26), the initiative reflects a strong commitment to sustainability and environmental awareness.
The students carefully curated ornamental flowers, indoor plants, and small shrubs to transform the department space into a vibrant and eco-friendly corner. Each trainee adopted a plant and pledged to care for it through regular watering, pruning, and observation, while maintaining a growth journal.
The students vowed to protect and nurture their green space, reinforcing the message of environmental responsibility. The Green Corner stands as a living symbol of their dedication to nature and holistic education.

The Department of Education, Patna Women's College Autonomous, organized a week-long school exposure programme for the Semester II B.Ed. students (2024–26 batch) from 7th to 12th April 2025. The Students were divided into five different schools of Patna, namely- Government Girls High School, Shastri Nagar, Government Boys High School, Shastri Nagar, Rajkiya Balika Ucch Vidyalaya, Chiraiyatad, Devipad Choudhary Shaheed Smarak Miller High School and Bankipore Rajkiya Balika Uchch Madhyamik Vidyalaya.
Guided by the theme "हर कदम, पर्यावरण के संग", the trainees conducted a variety of engaging and educational activities designed to promote environmental awareness and holistic learning:
Yoga Session: The session focused on breathing techniques, basic asanas, and relaxation methods to emphasize the importance of physical and mental wellness among school students.
‘Health Canvas’ Exhibition: On April 7th, to mark World Health Day, trainees organized a poster exhibition titled ‘Health Canvas’. Posters covered themes such as balanced diets, personal hygiene, mental health, prevention of communicable diseases, and lifestyle-related disorders.
Paper Craft: A creative session was conducted where students learned to make eco-friendly masks using paper-mâché. The activity promoted the reuse of paper.
Extempore Competition: School students participated in an extempore contest on the theme "Nature", which inspired reflections on environmental conservation.
Pantomime: On the final day, the trainees performed a pantomime which addressed the harmful impact of pollution, deforestation, and consumerism.
Exhibition: The trainees organized an exhibition showcasing creative items designed by the school students during the programme.
