Established in 2006, the Department of Education is an NCTE-accredited body running a B.Ed. Course.
The Department of Education, Patna Women's College Autonomous celebrated Bihar Diwas with enthusiasm, highlighting the rich cultural heritage of the state on 21st March, 2025. The event was anchored by Shagufta Afreen and Neha Vats.
The celebration began with a powerful poem, "Main Uss Bihar Se Hun," recited by Saloni Kumari, reflecting the pride and legacy of Bihar. A quiz competition conducted by Neha Vats engaged students in learning about Bihar’s history and achievements. The event also featured a vibrant performance of Samachakeva, a traditional folk dance symbolizing unity and festivity.
A special quiz for teachers added an interactive touch to the program. The event concluded with a pledge led by Neha Vats, reaffirming commitment to Bihar’s progress. Shagufta Afreen delivered the vote of thanks, marking the end of a memorable and insightful celebration.

The Department of Education, Patna Women's College Autonomous organized an educational visit to the Bihar Vidhan Sabha for second semester students (session 2024-26), on 21st March 2025 to provide firsthand experience of the legislative process. They were accompanied by Dr. Madhumita and Ms. Swati Shilpi, Assistant Professors. Mr. Rakesh Kumar, Section Officer, guided the group and provided comprehensive information on the structure and functioning of the Vidhan Sabha, the roles and responsibilities of its members, and the conduct of its four annual sessions. An interactive session was held in the committee room, where students eagerly posed questions, and Mr. Kumar answered them with great clarity and patience.
The students had the unique privilege of witnessing a live parliamentary session in the presence of Hon’ble Speaker Shri Nand Kishore Yadav, Hon’ble Chief Minister Shri Nitish Kumar, and Leader of the Opposition Shri Tejashwi Yadav. The session was eventually adjourned due to arguments in the house, giving students an authentic glimpse of the dynamic and unpredictable nature of legislative proceedings.
In addition to attending the session, students toured significant parts of the Vidhan Sabha complex, including the Central Hall, Auditorium, Assembly Hall, and Library. A short encounter with the Hon’ble Speaker Shri Nand Kishore Yadav, encouraged the students to stay committed to their studies, contribute positively to Bihar’s growth, and bring laurels to their college. The students also presented him a small token of their gratitude.

Patna Women’s College (Autonomous) celebrated the festival of colors with its annual Holi Dance Competition on 12 March, 2025, themed "Vividhata Main Ekta ke Rang." Eleven groups participated, including a dynamic team from the Department of Education, Patna Women's College Autonomous.
Fourteen students delivered a vibrant and heartfelt performance, supported by a dedicated art and craft team that meticulously designed props, costumes, and makeup. Their creativity and effort earned them a well-deserved second place in the competition.

The Department of Education, Patna Women's College Autonomous organized a departmental seminar on 10th March 2025 on the theme ‘Mental Health as a Pillar of Holistic Education.’ Teacher trainees from first and second years presented their research through PowerPoint presentations, with eight teams participating.
Priti Kumari and Kajal Sinha welcomed the faculty and jury, which included Dr. Rashmi Sinha, Dr. Prabhas Ranjan, and Dr. Madhumita, (Assistant Professors, Department of Education, Patna Women’s College). The presentations covered diverse topics, including Role Conflict among Working Women and its Impact on their Mental Health, मानसिक स्वास्थ्य की ओर कदम: भारत में छात्रों के लिए मानसिक स्वास्थ्य सेवाएं, The Silent Struggle is Real: Uncovering the Challenges of Teaching, A Study of Challenges related to Mental Health in Adolescent, Psychosocial Effects of the Physical Changes on Mental Health in Adolescents, Exploring the Rising Stress and Exhaustion among Educators caused by Work Overload, Competitive Exams and its Impact on Mental Health of Students, and The Impact of Social Media on the Mental Health of B.Ed. Students.
Following the presentations, the jury and the faculty engaged in questioning and offered commendations for the trainees' efforts. This enlightening program not only showcased the vibrant research ideas of young minds but also fostered an environment of exploration and innovation within the academic community. Sushma Singh, Shreeti Kaushik, and Vidushi Bharti's research paper, "Competitive Exams and its Impact on Mental Health of Students," emerged as the top presentation at the seminar.

The program began with a self-composed poem titled ‘Ghari’ by Shrishti (Semester IV), followed by a thought-provoking English speech by Sadaf Rahman. A role-play titled "Main Nari Hoon" captured the resilience of women, while a dance performance added vibrancy to the event. Maurya Priyadarshi delivered a powerful Hindi speech, and a quiz, conducted by Khushboo Kumari, engaged the audience. The musical trio Alaiza Thakur, Astha, and Sidra Warsi performed "Badal Pe Paon Hai," celebrating women’s aspirations. The students also displayed their posters on the theme.
Dr. Rashmi Sinha, Assistant Professor, encouraged students to understand their worth, be decision-makers of their own life, and act as agents of change in the society. Dr. Sister M. Saroj A.C., Head of the Department emphasized the importance of self-respect and addressed the economic disparities women face, citing that women earn only 11% of total income and own just 1% of land globally.
