The Department of Education, Patna Women’s College Autonomous, organised a special programme titled ‘Bihar: Hamar Shaan’ and an exhibition on the eve of Bihar Diwas on 21st March 2024 to celebrate Bihar’s rich heritage and culture.
Students began the program by showcasing the famous landmarks and historical sites of Bihar through informative slideshows and speeches about iconic places. There was also a quiz based on the State. It was followed by shedding light towards the diverse linguistic and cultural landscape of Bihar. They emphasised the importance of regional languages like Maithali, Angika, Magahi, Bajjika and Bhojpuri, which are integral to the state’s identity by reciting poetry in these languages. A vibrant exhibition was also organized, showcasing the diverse art and culinary traditions of Bihar. The exhibition aimed to celebrate the State’s rich cultural heritage, highlighting renowned art forms like Madhubani, Tikuli, Aripan, and Manjusha, alongside showcasing various indigenous culinary delights such as Makhana, Khaja, and Nimki.
The programme concluded with the heartening and appreciative words of the Head of the Department, Dr. Sister M. Saroj A.C. She encouraged the trainees to stay connected to their roots and to take pride in their rich Bihari heritage.
