The first semester students (session 2023-25) of the Department of Education, Patna Women’s College Autonomous, had the privilege of visiting Ashadeep Rehabilitation Centre, Patna, on 9th and 10th November, 2023. They had the unique opportunity to interact with the special children. The trainees performed a few action songs for the children’s entertainment. The purpose of the visit was to gain insights into inclusive educational practices, understand the challenges faced by differently-abled students, and foster a spirit of empathy and inclusivity among our students.
The trainees were introduced to various classrooms, therapy rooms, and recreational areas tailored to the unique needs of special students. They had the opportunity to observe classes in progress, gaining insights into the specialized teaching methods and resources used to accommodate diverse learning needs.
The visit was a transformative experience, offering valuable insights into inclusive education and fostering a spirit of empathy and inclusivity among the trainees. The trainees also presented the students with small gifts and chocolates while interacting with the students, and they also learned to sign their names in sign language.
