Annual Sports Meet 2020

Annual Sports Meet 2020 was held on Wednesday, 29th January, 2020, in the sports ground of Department of Education, Patna Women’s College with great zeal and enthusiasm. The Programme commenced with flag hoisting by the Chief Guest, Colonel Manoj Mishra, Registrar, Patna University. He took salute of the March Past presented by the teacher trainees of B.Ed. 1st year. The March Past was led by Afshan Ghani, Prefect, Department of Education, Patna Women’s College. Teacher trainees welcomed the guests by singing the welcome song ‘Hey Atithigan Lo Abhinandan’. The Principal Dr. Sr. M. Rashmi. AC welcomed the Chief Guest and the esteemed gathering of invited parents. The races began with a lot of cheering and tons of encouragement. The trainees competed in sports events including Spoon-lemon race, Sack race, Dress yourself, Shuttle race, Three-legged race and Relay race. Additionaly, the winners of other competitions, such as Badminton, Discuss throw, Long jump, Javelin throw, Shot put were announced and awarded with certificates and medals. The Individual Championship for the year 2019-20 was awarded to Deepumal Joseph of B.Ed. 1st year and the runner up of Individual Championship was awarded to Sonam Kumari of B.Ed. 2nd year. All the teacher trainees presented excellent examples of enthusiasm, unity and group work. Teacher trainees presented several drills during the programme. They displayed peace and harmony through Yoga Drill, welcomed the arrival of spring season through Sunflower Drill, showed patriotic fervour through Flag Drill and physical fitness through Shuffle Drill. At the end of the program, the teacher trainees presented a Grand Finale in which they included the main steps from earlier drills. The Chief Guest talked about women empowerment and said that the students studying in the college are already empowered, others need to chach up.
The best March Past trophy was given to Blue house and overall Champion trophy was awarded to Red house. The program concluded by Vote of Thanks proposed by Gitanjali Sharma, Vice Prefect of Department of Education, Patna Women’s College.
