The Department of Education, Patna Women’s College (Autonomous), organised a screening of the film Gandhi on 31 October 2026 under the programme “My Best Impression of Gandhi”, as part of the month-long “Celebrating Gandhi” initiative.

The screening was intended to familiarise students with Mahatma Gandhi’s life, struggles and philosophy through cinema. The film brought attention to his commitment to truth and non-violence, the practice of Satyagraha, and his role in India’s freedom struggle.
Following the screening, the students were encouraged to write a paragraph about the scene that impressed them most and explain why it was memorable. This reflective writing activity invited them to move beyond recalling events in the film and consider their meaning in relation to Gandhian values.

By combining film viewing with personal reflection, the programme sought to strengthen students’ observation, critical thinking and writing skills. It also provided an opportunity to relate Gandhi’s ideas to questions of personal responsibility and public life.
