The Department of Education, Patna Women’s College Autonomous organized a screening of a short film titled ‘Muskaan’, for its first semester students on 25th November 2023, by National Council for Teacher Education – Estt018/30/2023-Estt Section- HQ, to collaborate in Nayi Chetna 2.0, a community-led campaign against gender-based violence.
The film focused on the pervasive issue of gender discrimination. The purpose of the screening was to raise awareness among the teacher trainees about the various forms of gender inequality prevalent in society and to encourage discussions that challenge these norms.
After the screening, the trainees were emboldened to share their thoughts, opinions, and personal experiences related to gender discrimination. The film and subsequent discussions encouraged critical thinking and introspection among students regarding gender biases and stereotypes.
