International Women in Mathematics Day was celebrated in the Department of Education, Patna Women’s College Autonomous, on 12th May 2023. It was celebrated in the morning assembly by the second semester students of session 2022 – 24, in which a short slide presentation on Indian women mathematicians was shown. The presentation started by mentioning the importance of the day and then a short clip was played from the movie ‘Shakuntala’. At the end of the presentation some slides were shown about Indian women’s mathematicians and their contributions in the field. This day is celebrated to appreciate the contribution of women mathematicians and to motivate others to make progress in the field of mathematics The presenters were Kumari Priya (79), Somi Ali (83), Juhi Kumari (86) and Tannu Kumari (87). The programme was guided by Ms. Yamini (Assistant Professor & Cultural Coordinator) and Ms. Ritika Shree (Assistant Professor). The programme was concluded by Dr. Rashmi Sinha (Assistant Professor).
